I don't much care for Kat Von D herself, but I do really like her base products (Lock it Foundation and Tattoo concealer). So at a recent trip to Sephora, I took a look at her palettes. Ladybird caught my eye immediately because of all the matte shades! And it wasn't the same ole neutrals either, which I liked. It contains 8 shades and a smaller sized Autograph Pencil in Immortal Love (dark brown).
Texture wise, its on the hard side (think Guerlain) but pigmented and with the exception of Fur Elise, applies evenly. It's smooth and blends easily, although I find that on my dry lids, I need a more moist base. My sister who has oilier lids, loves it and has had no problems. I don't generally have a problem with fading or longevity and this palette was no exception. Easily 8 hours with or without a primer.
Cleopatra all over the lid, Fur Elise on the outer 3rd, and Harlow to blend. I used the Autograph Pencil as well, and it reminds me of Urban Decay 24/7 liners which I didn't care for. Overall, at $36, I think the Ladybird palette is a great buy especially for those with oilier lids. I love how the palette contains basic shades but also some non-traditional ones like Cleopatra, Siouxsie-sioux, and Fur Elise.
Thanks for stopping by! :)
